The MetLife Foundation today recognized 2 scientists for their work on understanding Alzheimer's disease.

The foundation, affiliated with MetLife Inc., New York, honored Dr. David Holtzman, a medical school professor at Washington University in St. Louis, and Dr. Berislav Zlokovic, a medical school professor at the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.

The MetLife Foundation gave $50,000 to each researcher, and it gave a $200,000 research award to each researcher's university.
