A large health insurer is trying to do more to help plan members who are confronting cancer.

CIGNA HealthCare, Bloomfield, Conn., a unit of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, says it will add a link to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Austin, Texas, to the cancer care support section on its member Web pages.

CIGNA also has set up an oncology patient support program.

Oncology patient support program members will get educational materials from the Lance Armstrong Foundation and telephone support from CIGNA case managers.

The case managers can refer plan members to sources of financial help, legal help and other types of help at the foundation, CIGNA says.
