A health insurer with 6.5 million members is offering more health account products.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, a unit of Health Care Service Corp., Chicago, says it is expanding its BlueEdge family of "consumer-directed" health plans to include the BlueEdge FSA First flexible savings accounts; the BlueEdge Vitality retiree health benefit funding program; limited-purpose health care accounts designed for use with health savings accounts; and a wellness rewards program.
Health Care Service says its consumer-directed health plans now provide health coverage for about 200,000 individuals.
