UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., has completed its previously announced $4.9 billion acquisition of Oxford Health Plans Inc., Trumbull, Conn.[@@]
The deal should improve UnitedHealth's network of doctors and hospitals in the New York City area, and Oxford should benefit from UnitedHealth's experience to managing acquisitions, according to analysts at Standard & Poor's Ratings Services, New York.
