When researchers polled 205 southeast Michigan executives in May for the Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit, they found that 74% called health insurance "unaffordable" and 25% called it "very unaffordable."
The researchers also found that 74% of the participants were thinking about reducing employee health benefits as a result of high costs.
Despite the concerns about health insurance, 85% of the participants said the quality of health care in the Detroit area is average or above average.
