NU Online News Service, Feb. 20, 4:09 p.m. – Travelers Life & Annuity, Hartford, has joined the rush to tempt shell-shocked consumers back to variable annuities by introducing a principal guarantee option for purchasers of its Vintage Series variable annuities.
The rider helps customers protect their original investments, Travelers says.
Customers can also lock in gains by resetting the protected contract value every five years.
Travelers, a unit of Citigroup Inc., New York, will also be adding a principal guarantee option to its Portfolio Architect Series variable annuities.
