NU Online News Service, April 29, 7:58 p.m. – Anthem Inc., Indianapolis, is reporting $100 million in net income for the first quarter on $2.7 billion in revenue, up from $71 million on $2.5 billion in revenue for the first quarter of 2001.
The company provided or administered major medical coverage for 8.2 million people at the end of the quarter, up from 8 million a year earlier.
Average premium revenue per fully insured member increased 6%, to $652.
