NU Online News Service, Oct. 18, 11:45 a.m. – CorVel Corp., Irvine, Calif., is reporting net income of $3.6 million for the quarter that ended Sept. 30 on $58.4 million in revenue, up from $3.3 million in net income on $51.7 million in revenue for the comparable quarter in 2000.
CorVel sells disability insurance and workers' compensation insurance, and it also develops and rents networks of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers to health plans.
Earnings for the quarter reflected some weakness in pricing conditions, but they also reflected increased demand for the company's services, CorVel says.
