Top portfolio products and changes introduced over the last week include a toolkit to integrate investing with climate change and fossil fuel impact goals from Morgan Stanley and an actively managed total return bond ETF from Guggenheim Investments.

In addition, Envestnet|Tamarac integrated with VEO and rolled out a system-integrated percentage ownership capability and Riskalyze introduced automated behavioral coaching tools for advisors.

Here are the latest developments of interest to advisors:

1) Morgan Stanley Adds Environmental Investing Toolkit

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Investing with Impact platform rolled out the Climate Change and Fossil Fuel Aware Investing toolkit. It functions as a roadmap for Morgan Stanley financial advisors to use with individual and institutional clients to develop a tailored investment approach that incorporates climate change and fossil fuel awareness into their portfolios.

The Tool Kit includes a primer that explores the topic of climate change, with a focus on fossil fuels, and provides a framework for investors to understand the risks and opportunities involved in climate change and fossil fuel aware investing. It also provides various approaches to climate change and fossil fuel-aware investing and guidance on how to implement these approaches from a portfolio perspective.

2) Guggenheim Adds Total Return Bond ETF

Guggenheim Investments launched the Guggenheim Total Return Bond ETF (GTO), which combines an actively managed fixed-income strategy with the structure of an ETF. GTO invests primarily in investment-grade fixed-income securities across multiple sectors.

3) Envestnet|Tamarac Integrates with VEO, Adds Percentage Ownership Capability

Envestnet|Tamarac has implemented the first phase of integration between its web-based Advisor Xi suite for independent RIAs and the Veo custodial platform from TD Ameritrade Institutional. Advisors using Advisor Xi now have instant access to real-time account details, alerts, balance and realized gains/losses for client accounts custodied at TD Ameritrade Institutional.

Envestnet/Tamarac also launched a feature that enables advisors to create new accounts in the Advisor View portfolio management application that are populated with percentages of the assets in other accounts. These accounts can be customized and tracked in Advisor View, providing advisors with a “percentage ownership” capability as a fully integrated component of a portfolio accounting system.

4) Riskalyze Adds Automated Behavioral Coaching Tools for Advisors

Riskalyze launched Client Analytics and Check-ins, tools that help advisors put the markets in context for their clients during client reviews, support client psychology between those reviews and deliver consistent behavioral coaching to promote long-term investing.

Client Analytics works to demonstrate how well a client’s Risk Number meets client expectations for portfolio risk, as well as comparing the outcome to the advisor’s choice of benchmark. The Check-ins tool is a monthly email that gathers two data points from each client and supports the advisor’s message with adaptive analytics that fit the context of the markets; it also provides the advisor with an early warning system if clients are concerned.
