There are no new ideas in time management. You plan your work and work your plan. Projects get prioritized. This is good strategic thinking. What do you do when your client, who is meeting you at your office, is running 20 minutes late?
There are many instances in your workday when you have a small amount of time before the next activity starts. You might have a webinar starting in 20 minutes. You might have 20 minutes before the office sales meeting starts. How can you use this time efficiently?
Here is what not to do: Don’t waste it. Don’t call a client back, expecting them not to be available or able to take the call. If they pick up, you might have to rush them off the phone. Don’t make a service call when you know the time you wait on hold can get very long.
