The American College of Financial Services is launching a new retirement-focused conference event next month, dubbed Horizons 2025.

George Nichols III, president and CEO of The American College of Financial Services, tells ThinkAdvisor that the Horizons event is about “breaking boundaries, exploring new horizons in retirement planning, and ensuring our profession evolves to meet the needs of retirees in 2025 and beyond.”

“We’re proud to create an event that will set the standard for how retirement planners come together to learn, grow, and share knowledge,” Nichols added. “This event is an exciting step forward in shaping the future of retirement and the profession itself, and we are thrilled to be leading this conversation with some of the most renowned experts in the field.”

ThinkAdvisor will attend the first Horizons gathering, to be hosted March 3 to 5 in Coronado, California.

Topics to be covered include holistic retirement income planning, longevity planning and legacy planning. Workshop sessions will also cover topics such as Social Security, Medicare, retirement psychology, income solutions and housing considerations during life after work.

Speakers on the agenda include retirement researchers Michael Finke, Wade Pfau, Eric Ludwig, David Blanchett and Steve Parrish. They will be joined by wealth management industry practitioners Jamie Hopkins, Justin Fitzpatrick, Fiona Greig, Ed Slott and many others.

Attendance for the 2025 event is limited, but the waiting list for 2026 will open later this year.

“We believe Horizons is the event that retirement planners have been waiting for — an immersive, community-driven experience that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in our profession,” Nichols concluded.
