BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Inc. has started selling the BlueAdvantage Plus group retiree health plan.
Tennessee Blue, Chattanooga, Tenn., says the plan can help Tennessee municipal employers put their retirees in one statewide municipal retiree group.
The group purchasing power will help smaller communities benefit from the same volume discounts that large cities now enjoy, Tennesee Blue says.
The plans comes with a BlueAdvantage Plus PFFS private fee-for-service plan design and a BlueAdvantage Plus PPO option.
Both plan designs include Medicare Part D prescription drug benefits, and both offer no deductibles, $10 office co-payments, free annual physicals, and free air ambulance service.
