The American Academy of Actuaries has published a brief guide to health savings accounts.
Enrollment in the plans is growing rapidly, but it is not yet clear how HSA holders differ from non-HSA holders or how HSAs are affecting the holders' health care spending or savings levels, according to actuaries at the AAA, Washington.
