Athenahealth Inc. says it is expanding a claims-approval system it developed with the help of Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky.
Athenahealth, Watertown, Mass., says its claim system, called real-time adjudication, enables providers to collect patients' share of a health care treatment at the time of the office visit.
Athenahealth and Humana announced their RTA partnership in 2006 and tried out the program in 3 states before making it available to Athenahealth's entire national client base.
