Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arkansas will be joining with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to help create the Center for Innovation in Health Care Logistics at the University of Arkansas.
The center will study ways to use information technology to improve all aspects of the U.S. health care and health finance system, according to Wal-Mart, Bentonville, Ark., and Arkansas Blue, Little Rock, Ark.
The first executive director of the center will be Ron Rardin, who once led National Science Foundation health care delivery research efforts.
