LPL Financial says seven advisors have joined its affiliated group Genesis Wealth Management, which uses the firm’s broker-dealer and corporate RIA platforms and has offices in San Antonio, Austin and Fair Oaks Ranch/Boerne, Texas.

Formerly with USAA Financial Advisors, Robert Harlan, John Lander, Heidi Malone, Youree McBride, Richard Poligala, Geraldo Reyes and Max Rodriguez are now part of Genesis Wealth, which was started by Jereme Brisco in July 2016.

Genesis now includes 12 advisors who used to be with USAA; the other members are managing partners Michael Dubensky and Jon Thompson and advisors Mark Stawarz and Rusty Whittaker.

“We felt it was important to meet with clients in person when dealing with their finances and wanted to provide more than proprietary offerings,” Thompson explained in an interview. “Now we can shop the industry for clients, which is very, very rewarding.”

Genesis has about $300 million in assets and expects to hit $500 million over the next 12 months, according to Thompson.

“On behalf of LPL, I congratulate Genesis Wealth Management and welcome their new advisors to the LPL family,” Craig Kamis, LPL executive vice president of business development, said in a statement. “We’re proud their firm has chosen us as their growth partner. We look forward to supporting their continued growth.”

The advisors moving to Genesis and LPL each have been in the business for more than 12 years, according to FINRA BrokerCheck: Harlan, 14; Lander, 18; Malone, 17; McBride, 17; Poligala, 13; Reyes, 16; and Rodriguez, 22.

“Since Genesis was formed in 2016, LPL has continuously proven to be the right partner for us,” Thompson said. “As the firm has made innovative improvements, it has helped our business grow.

“We are excited to welcome former colleagues who share an appreciation for LPL’s commitment to the wealth management space, its independent model and the enhanced resources that enable us to deliver personalized service and customized solutions to our clients.”
