The Financial Planning Association says TD Ameritrade Institutional will be sharing more educational materials, including thought leadership, with its 23,000 members.

Next week, certified financial planners will have access to this content and to the TD Ameritrade professionals producing it at the 2017 FPA Annual Conference in Nashville. Much of this content also will be available on the group’s virtual-learning platform and at other educational events for CFPs in the future, the two organizations say.

“TD Ameritrade Institutional has been one of the premier financial institutions for years and they have made it their purpose to help financial planners operate successful businesses and serve millions of clients,” said 2017 FPA President Shannon J. Pike, CFP, in a statement.

“As an exceptional thought leader in financial services, we look forward to working with them to bring their content and subject-matter experts to the FPA community to help our members succeed now and in the future,” Pike explained.

At the FPA national conference, TD Ameritrade Institutional’s director of Business Performance Solutions — Vanessa Oligino — will lead a session on ways financial planning firms can secure their futures at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. She will describe how firms are exposed to risks and how advisors can limit risk exposure while assessing opportunities for growth.

“We strongly believe independent financial planners play a highly valuable role by helping American families pursue their financial goals. We’re also strongly committed to helping these professionals pursue their own goals by delivering programs, tools and expertise they can leverage to run better businesses,” said Kate Healy, managing director, Generation Next, TD Ameritrade Institutional, in a statement.

The FPA says it aims to work with other industry players going forward to boost educational programming for financial planners.
