Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has hired Carl Swanson to lead platform experience for its investment solutions group. Swanson had been with Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney since 1991 and most recently served as the chief operating officer of digital platforms.
At Merrill Lynch, the executive will focus on making improvements to Merrill Lynch One, the firm’s investment advisory platform, and digital touchpoints, communications, the IAP enrollment process and documentation. He also worked on the development and integration of tools to connect the platform to its goals-based wealth management efforts.
“Carl has earned a reputation for integrity and delivering innovative solutions to advisors and clients,” said Jay Link, head of fiduciary programs and platforms, in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to have him join the firm, as he brings a unique combination of skills and experience in investment advisory products and platforms, and has deep understanding of advisors and what is important when it comes to helping them manage and grow their practices,” Link said.
