RBC Wealth Management’s conference for women advisors will mark its 21st year this September with speakers and sessions that focus on practical information relevant to women as business owners and leaders.
To be held Sept. 13 through 15 at the Westin Edina Galleria just outside of Minneapolis, the Women’s Association of Financial Advisors (WAFA) conference includes presentations by RBC Wealth Management CEO John Taft and Wealth Management Group Head George Lewis.
Sessions will cover topics such as:
- Creating an action plan for “your best year ever”
- Learning best practices from top-producing financial advisors
- Understanding social media networking
“Beyond the scheduled events, the conference offers a great opportunity for RBC Wealth Management’s women advisors to learn from one another,” said Mary Zimmer (left), RBC’s head of International Wealth-USA and Correspondent and Advisor Services in a phone interview on Thursday.
“The theme for the conference is ‘plan for your best year ever,’” Zimmer said. “The main benefits of a conference like this are about bringing women together in a spirit of camaraderie, friendship and sharing business ideas with their peers. Because this year’s conference is in RBC Wealth Management’s headquarters city of Minneapolis, it’s an opportunity for advisors to meet people from the home office. The bulk of the agenda is really around building their book of business.”
So far, approximately 115 domestic advisors from WAFA’s membership of 200 have committed to attend. In addition, another 10 have signed up from the international team in Miami and New York. The association comprises RBC advisors exclusively, but it is organized by the group members and not the corporation. Zimmer is the executive sponsor to WAFA.
