Allianz Life gives $475,000 to financial literacy orgs

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America recently gave out $475,000 worth of grants to 17 organizations. Pictured, Allianz Life employee Cynthia Rice teaches students at Harvest Prep Academy in Minneapolis as part of the company’s JA for a Day program.

The company awarded $275,000 to 15 organizations in the Twin Cities area. Individual amounts to the organizations, which provide financial literacy and retirement planning education, ranged from $5,000 to $25,000. Grant recipients were chosen by the Allianz Governance Committee.

Allianz Life also gave $100,000 each to BestPrep and Junior Achievement as part of an ongoing three-year financial literacy partnership.

“Allianz Life is passionate about financial literacy and supporting organizations that strive to bring attention to the topic,” said Suzanne Zeller, chief human resources officer for Allianz Life. “In addition to assisting these programs financially, our grant and partnership platform gives Allianz Life employees a chance to see the difference they can make through volunteering.”
