Guardian Life Insurance Company of America has introduced a group critical illness program that can include an optional hospital admission rider.

In addition to paying $1,000 to $50,000 in lump-sum benefits to insureds who need organ transplants or coronary artery bypass grafts, or who suffer from cancer, heart attacks, strokes or kidney failure, policies that include the hospital admission rider can pay up to $500 per day in cash benefits for hospital stays for conditions not covered under the critical illness insurance plan, according to Guardian, New York.

The critical illness program also includes a wellness benefit option that can pay up to $25 to $100 to plan members who undergo preventive health screenings and procedures.
