The MetLife Mature Market Institute has developed a free pamphlet for Americans who are caring for older relatives who live far away.[@@]

The institute, an affiliate of MetLife Inc., New York, has posted a copy of the guide, “Since You Care: Long Distance Caregiving,” on the Web at http://www.maturemarketinstitute.com

More than 5 million U.S. residents provide care for older relatives who live at least 1 hour away, according to MetLife.

The guide introduces concepts such as the use of geriatric care managers, and it provides lists of tips, such as a list of information that caregivers should keep close at hand.
