Guardian To Help Market Destiny Defined Contribution Health Plans

NU Online News Service, Oct. 27, 2003, 3:32 p.m. EST – The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, has agreed to start a joint venture that will market defined contribution health plans from Destiny Health, Oak Brook, Ill., to employers.

Guardian will start by marketing the Destiny program in Illinois.

Destiny plans combine catastrophic insurance, consumer-controlled savings accounts for routine health care expenses and a rewards program that uses treats such as airline miles to persuade plan members to improve their health.

Destiny Health is a unit of Discovery Health Pty. Ltd., Sandton, South Africa.
