NU Online News Service, Sept. 15, 3:25 p.m. – Aon Corp., Chicago, says it has accounted for 900 of the 1,100 Aon employees who worked at the Manhatan World Trade Center complex.

The company is still asking WTC employees who have not called Aon to check in at a toll-free telephone number, at 866-256-4154, as soon as possible.

“We are collecting information on the safety of our employees, and would like to get home contact information for all of our employees,” Aon said in a statement.

Aon is putting news updates about its situation for employees at 866-946-4357.

Aon clients who need information can call 847-953-4071 for Aon Risk Services; Aon Consulting, at 800-438-6487; and Aon Services Group, at 818-227-3420

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the many victims of Tuesday’s tragedy,” Aon said. “We are working with authorities to obtain as much information as possible.”

Aon leased offices at WTC Building 2, one of the two towers hit Tuesday by terrorist attacks, in 1997.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the government agency that built the towers reported when Aon signed the lease that it had taken 1.5 million square feet of space in Building 2, on floors 83, 92, 99, 103, 104 and 105.
