As a senior wealth strategist, John leads the wealth planning practice for the Chicago Market of The Private Client Reserve of U.S. Bank, serving high net worth clients. John provides subject-matter expertise and advanced wealth planning solutions around clients’ goals and objectives through the integration of goals based wealth management, cash flow analysis, retirement planning, business succession, wealth structuring, risk management, tax mitigation and charitable planning.
Prior to joining The Private Client Reserve of U.S. Bank, John worked for several Wall Street financial firms in private wealth management, and he practiced law with major law firms in the areas of complex estate planning, business law, corporate securities and the advanced use of life insurance in wealth structuring. Since entering the banking and financial services industry in 1999, John has held key positions with AXA Equitable and Merrill Lynch Global Private Client Group and has served as a Wealth Structuring Specialist to Senior Wealth Advisors and their high net worth clients at other leading financial institutions in Chicago and St. Louis.
John is a frequently requested presenter, and he has been quoted in media publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Bankrate and The Chicago Tribune. John holds his Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School and a Bachelors of Arts degree from Yale University. John currently serves on the Board of Directors of Link Unlimited Scholars and on The Advocate Health Care Gift Planning Advisory Committee. John also serves on the Elder Board of Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, Illinois.

Tony M. Oommen, CFP®, is a charitable planning consultant for Fidelity Charitable®, an independent public charity that has helped donors support more than 220,000 nonprofit organizations with over $22 billion in grants since its inception in 1991. The mission of Fidelity Charitable® is to further the American tradition of philanthropy by providing programs that make charitable giving simple, effective, and accessible.
In his current role, Mr. Oommen builds relationships with advisors, enhances their understanding of Fidelity Charitable’s donor-advised fund program, and discusses ways to incorporate charitable giving into clients' financial and wealth management plans.
Mr. Oommen has dedicated his career to being a strategic advisor to high-net-worth clients and has developed a passion for helping clients identify creative and impactful ways to incorporate philanthropy into their comprehensive financial plans. For the last 12 years, he served as a wealth advisor for BMO Private Bank in Chicago and Fifth Third Private Bank in Cincinnati. Prior to Fifth Third, Mr. Oommen held roles as a wealth advisor at a boutique advisor firm in Cincinnati and as a regional director of financial planning at Sagemark Consulting/Lincoln Financial Advisors. He began his financial services career at Fidelity Investments® in 1998, working in retail brokerage as a trader and client advisor in the Private Wealth Services group.
