NEW YORK, NY – July 20, 2015 ALM’s Research magazine has announced that former executive managing editor, Janet Levaux took over as editor-in-chief of the publication. Kenneth Silber now fills the role of executive editor.

A resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Levaux has covered the financial services industry since 1991. In addition to living, working and studying in Asia, Europe and Latin America, she has served as a news and features editor for Investor’s Business Daily and The Contra Costa Times. She earned a BA from Yale, an MA from Johns Hopkins SAIS and an MBA from St. Mary’s College of California.
Silber has written about economics, history and science since 1988. His work has appeared in publications including The Wall Street Journal and Scientific American Mind. He is a two-time winner of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (NYSSCPA) Award for Excellence in Financial Journalism. A graduate of New York University with a BA in economics and history, he is currently writing a book about the Erie Canal.
Levaux replaces longtime editor Gil Weinreich who has relocated overseas but will continue to contribute to the publication. Before stepping down, Weinreich served as editor-in-chief for Research for 18 years. During his tenure, the magazine won the NYSSCPA Award for Excellence in Financial Journalism in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2012, the publication won the 2012 Silver Ozzie Award for Excellence in Magazine Design, and in 2014 won editorial and design awards from the American Society of Business Publications Editors.
