Robert J. Doyle Jr.

Robert J. Doyle, Jr. is an independent financial consultant, writer and speaker, and software developer specializing in executive compensation, retirement planning, investment and insurance tax planning, business valuation, and business continuation planning. He is currently affiliated with Surgent McCoy CPE in Devon, Pennsylvania, as a writer and speaker. Surgent McCoy CPE is a publisher of continuing professional education courses for CPAs. It is the largest vendor in the United States of continuing professional CPA education courses in the topic areas of taxation and advisory services.

Prior to his affiliation with Surgent McCoy CPE, Mr. Doyle was Senior Vice President of Mandeville Financial Services, Inc., a diversified insurance, real estate, employee benefits, and executive compensation consulting firm and life insurance agency. Before joining Mandeville Financial Services, Mr. Doyle spent 15 years as Associate Professor of Finance and Insurance at The American College where he was responsible for courses in retirement and wealth accumulation planning in the College's CLU and ChFC professional designation programs. Mr. Doyle also has served as Adjunct Professor of Taxation in the graduate tax program of Widener University Graduate School of Management where he has taught courses in taxation of investments and taxation for financial planning and Adjunct Professor of Finance at St. Joseph’s University Haub School of Business.

He is an author or co-author of over a dozen books and monographs including The Tools & Techniques of Financial Planning, The Tools & Techniques of Life Insurance Planning, Can You Afford to Retire? and Solutions Handbook For Personal Financial Planning, Business Planning, Employee Benefits, Estate Planning. He has written and presented numerous professional education courses for CPAs for Surgent McCoy CPE on tax, retirement, investment, business, and other financial planning topics. Beyond his book and education courses, Mr. Doyle has published nearly fifty articles in the academic, professional, and trade press and he has appeared as a financial planning expert on radio and television talk shows around the country.

In addition to speaking at dozens of conferences sponsored by The American College and at several hundred CPA continuing education seminars, Mr. Doyle has addressed audiences in regional and national conferences sponsored by The Widener Tax Institute, The International Association of Financial Planners, The Institute of Certified Financial Planners, Commerce Clearing House, The American Society of CLU & ChFC, TIAA-CREF, and a number of state CPA Institutes. He has spoken before dozens of chapters of The American Society of CLU & ChFC and numerous regional Estate Planning Councils as well as various community groups and charitable organizations.

Mr. Doyle did his graduate study as a Huebner Fellow at the WhartonSchool of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds the MA and MBA degrees from Wharton, a BA from MacalesterCollege, is a CLU and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Mr. Doyle resides in Wayne, Pennsylvania with his wife, Kathryn, and their three children.
