Yet another reason boomers have to be thankful. Research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates people over the age of 50 might be immune to the H1N1 flu.
But while we're still on the fun subject of health scares, new research from the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center concludes an epidemic of cancer is headed our way, says health science writer Sherry Baker. "Scientists say over the next two decades, the number of new cancer cases diagnosed each year in the U.S. will increase by 45 percent. This dramatic spike in incidence is expected to especially hit the growing older Baby Boomers," Baker wrote in May.
