Dealing with the Downturn

"Business as usual" is not in my vocabulary during these extraordinary times. Maintaining client contact is more important than it has ever been. In addition to my monthly e-newsletter, I have been sending out periodic "News Flashes" and "Market Flash Reports" to my clients. All of this is via e-mail using my CRM software, ACT.

Also, given the present set of problems we face, people are looking for answers. As an independent advisor, I am not shackled by capacity issues as are my brethren in the large firms. In times past, the large firms held the awe of the consumer partly due to their slick advertising. Today, their formerly stellar names have been dragged through the proverbial mud. This creates an opportunity for the ethical, independent advisor to increase market share.

In 1776 we had the Declaration of Independence. Today, we have the Declaration of Independents.

Independents rise up...this is your time!
