Fidelity Investments launched the Fidelity 130/30 Large Cap Fund, which will be managed by Keith Quinton, using a combination of Fidelity's research and fundamental quantitative models to select long and short investment ideas. The portfolio will measure its performance against the S&P 500 while maintaining market-capitalization and style exposures similar to that of the index.

...Franklin Templeton Investments introduced the Franklin India Growth Fund, which will seek long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity securities of companies based in India, companies that derive a majority of their revenues or profits from the Indian economy, or companies with a majority of their assets in India. Stephen Dover, managing director and international CIO for Franklin's Local Asset Management groups, will serve as lead portfolio manager.

...The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company launched Flexible Choice Whole Life (FCWL), which includes a Flexible Protection Rider, which gives clients the opportunity to pair a whole life policy with term insurance that is gradually replaced with additional permanent, paid-up life coverage, allowing the client to purchase a larger death benefit at a lower total cost. Other features include a choice of paid-up dates (at age 100 or at age 65), and the choice of making additional premium payments through either a supplemental or accelerated paid-up additions rider.

...FundQuest has launched Institutional Spectrum, a managed accounts platform that is available exclusively to independent RIAs, trust companies, and banks working with Schwab Institutional. The Institutional Spectrum platform offers eight different managed account options, along with tools for proposal preparation and account maintenance, back office operational services, consolidated quarterly reporting, and open architecture investment due diligence.
