New York Life Insurance Company announced that Christopher Blunt was appointed senior VP and COO for its Life and Annuity Operations, the company's largest revenue generator. Blunt was previously executive VP of New York Life Investment Management, where he was in charge of retail investments, marketing, and information technology.

Jonathan Spector, vice dean of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, was named president and CEO of The Conference Board, effective April 16. He succeeds Richard Cavanagh, who is retiring.

Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC announced the retirement of Robert Morris, the firm's CIO, effective March 31. Morris joined the firm as director of equity research in 1991, and became CIO in 2005. Robert Dow, a Lord Abbett managing partner, will assume Morris's position.

John Poff, the president and CEO of Mutual Service Corp. (MSC) and the 2006 chair of the Financial Services Institute, has announced his retirement. John Dixon, president of Pacific Select Group and current chairman of MSC, will assume the CEO role, while Poff serves as a consultant through the end of 2007.

National Planning Holdings, Inc. (NPH) appointed Jim Miller to senior VP of operations. Todd Kinart will take over as the new president and CEO of SII, Miller's previous position.

Steve Krameisen has joined Advanced Equities Financial Corp. as the chief technology officer. He is responsible for overseeing information technology for all of AEFC's subsidiaries - First Allied Securities Inc., FFP Securities, Inc., Greenbook Financial Services, Inc. and Advanced Equities Inc. Most recently, Krameisen was VP of individual business information technology at MetLife.

Jonathan Burks will join the Securities and Exchange Commission as director of the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. He is currently chief of staff for the 185-person Office of International Affairs at the Department of Treasury.

Trust Company of America appointed Mark Massa as VP of client services and operations. Most recently, Massa served as senior VP of product operations at Fiserv Trust Group.
