The National Association of Personal Finance Advisors has elected its National Board for 2006-2007. Among the Board's priorities is further development of the Focus on Fiduciary campaign, educating members on business planning, and establishing alliances with other consumer-orientated associations. Board members are: Richard Bellmer, Chair; Thomas Orecchio, Treasurer; Bernard Kiely, Secretary/Membership; and Marjorie Fox, President's Council.

Stanton Green was named chairman of Investorside Research Association. Green is also managing director of Standard & Poor's Vista Research. The Financial Planning Association announced the winners of its Financial Frontiers Awards: Stephen Horan for "Optimal Withdrawal Strategies for Retirees with Multiple Savings Accounts"; Joel Gold, John Herald, and David VanderLinden for "Risk Management for the Family: The Desirability of Long-Term Care Insurance"; and William Desormeau for "Optimal Rebalancing Frequency for Stock-Bond Portfolios."

The Investment Management Consultants Association is hosting a new conference--the 2006 Advanced Wealth Management Conference--November 2-3 in Washington.

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) elected new officers and trustees to its representative governing body, the National Council, at its Convention and Career Conference. John Davidson, a field representative with New York Life from Thousand Oaks, California, was elected the organization's 117th president.
