If I weren't already happily married . . .

One of the most telling questions on the annual "Rate Your Broker/Dealer" ballot is the one that inquires "If you were to affiliate with another broker/dealer, which would it be, and why?" It's not a required field, and while the question often elicits paeans to their current B/D along the lines of "I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job than (fill in name of current B/D)," this year 538 voters took the time and trouble to answer. Here are the top five B/Ds named, and their share of those votes:

LPL24.5%

Commonwealth 14.1%

Raymond James 7.8%

Cambridge 5.9%

NEXT Financial 3.3%

Each year on the ballot, we also ask reps what products or services they wished their B/D offered. Here are this year's top five most-mentioned responses, coming from 464 voters, and their share of those votes:

Better marketing support 9.1%
