R. Lawrence Roth named as replacement

AIG announced January 9 that Mark Goldberg, president of its New York-based Royal Alliance Associates broker/dealer, is leaving the company to "pursue other interests." Goldberg will be replaced as president and CEO of Royal, part of the AIG Advisor Group, by R. Lawrence Roth. Roth is a former CEO of the ING U.S. Retail Group, and has been a managing director of New York-based Berkshire Capital Securities, the investment banking firm, where he helped run the banks' wealth management practice. The AIG Advisor Group, Inc. comprises about 7,000 advisors doing business through Advantage Capital, AIG Financial Advisors, FSC Securities, and

Royal Alliance. In his new position, Roth will report to Peter Harbeck, president and CEO of AIG Advisor Group.
