Investment Advisor Announces 2004 IA 25 List

Recognizes individuals with biggest impact on financial planning industry

Investment Advisor Magazine today announced its second annual IA 25 list of the people who will most affect the financial planning profession in the year ahead. Appearing in the May 2004 issue and chosen by the magazine's editors, the list contains a broad spectrum of personalities--from individual advisors and industry leaders to politicians and regulators--who provide the intellectual and moral leadership that helps pull together the financial planning profession.

The 2004 IA 25 actually comprises 26 names this year; President George W. Bush and his Democratic challenger, U.S. Senator John Kerry (D-MA) share one of the slots. Other members of the IA 25 include: advisors Harold Evensky, Deena Katz, Lou Stanasolovich, Roy Diliberto, and Sheryl Garrett; Joseph Velli (BNY Securities), Alfred West Jr. (SEI), Joseph Deitch (Commonwealth Financial), Don Phillips (Morningstar); Jay Lanigan (Fidelity Registered Investment Advisor Group), Deborah McWhinney (Schwab Institutional), and J. Thomas Bradley (TD Waterhouse Institutional Services); Marv Tuttle (Financial Planning Association); Eliot Spitzer (New York State attorney general), William Donaldson and Stephen Cutler (U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission); U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) and Phil Angelides (California state treasurer); Mark Tibergien (Moss Adams); John Bogle (former chairman, Vanguard Group), authors Peter Bernstein, Bob Veres, and Andrew Gluck; and Joan Bavaria (Trillium Asset Management).
